Zusammenfassung
Scientists can apply for funding to organize an EMBO Workshop. EMBO contributes a maximum of 39,000 euros (€33,500 of core funding plus €4,500 exclusively for travel grants) per workshop. Furthermore, EMBO supports the organizers by (a) creating a dedicated workshop webpage, including registration and abstract submission forms, (b) providing a poster and advertising in selected print and social media channels, and (c) offering funds for an EMBO Young Investigator lecture, EMBO Science Policy lecture and EMBO Women in Science lecture.

  • economy travel, accommodation and subsistence costs of the speakers and to subsidise the subsistence costs for participants;
  • reasonable administration costs
  • room hire, audiovisual and IT facilities essential for the workshop;
  • grants to aid participants from countries in need of scientific strengthening.

    Beschreibung
    EMBO Workshops are meetings that cover different and evolving aspects of life-science-related subject areas and bring scientists together to present and discuss their latest findings. Workshops may alternate with corresponding meetings held outside of Europe to facilitate interactions between scientists based in Europe and beyond.
    Bedingungen

    Main eligibility criteria:

    • Applications for practical courses and workshops must cover a topic from the life sciences (see EMBO subject areas on first page).
    • Scientists from anywhere in the world are eligible to apply, independent of their nationality.
    • Practical courses and workshops must take place in an EMBC Member State, an EMBC Associate Member State or in countries and territories covered by a co-operation agreement (see list on first page), while organizers can be based anywhere.
    • Global Exchange Lecture Courses can only take place in an EMBC Associate Member State or in countries and territories covered by a co-operation agreement (see list on first page).
